New series of live recordings from the War Memorial Organ

April - May 2021

We are pleased to present our second series of live recordings of the War Memorial Organ, performed by Warren Symes, for you to enjoy from the comfort and safety of your own homes. Through April and May, we released what we hope was an exciting and varied programme, with pieces by Pietro A Yon, Mendelssohn, Buxtehude, Stanford, Vierne and more...

We hope you will enjoy seeing more of our organist and the organ in the recordings, with extra photography of the hall and wider school captured by friend and supporter of the Society, Craig McGarrigle, who also kindly filmed and produced this latest series.

An offering for Armistice Day

11th November 2020

In remembrance of all those fallen in two World Wars and other conflicts, as the School observes its 2 minutes silence today on Wednesday 11th November 2020.

Despite not being able to gather as one community of Southendians Past and Present in the School's Main Hall with the War Memorial Organ and Rolls of Honour this year, we make this poignant offering as part of our series of live recordings.
